The seventh annual Wellness Walk was held on Sunday 13 October 2019, raising awareness for serious mental illness and suicide prevention.

The event is comprised of two different distances; a 6km walk over the iconic Sydney Harbour Bridge or 2km around the Royal Botanic Gardens.

Each day in Australia, 6 men and 2 women will take their own lives.

The Wellness Walk is not only a great awareness raising exercise as part of Mental Health Month but also operates as a fundraiser to support essential mental health services across NSW. It brings the community together and, most importantly, plays an active role in the conversation about serious mental illness.

After the walk, participants can enjoy lunch and live music on the picturesque lawns of Government House, overlooking Sydney Harbour.

This event is hosted by One Door Mental Health, a not-for-profit mental health service provider for those living with mental illness, their families and carers.
